491031 briggs carb, two gaskets??

Postby dart451 » Thu May 23, 2019 8:01 pm

Curious! I purchased a 491031 carb and it comes with two gaskets. There is only one place this gasket fits, up against intake on the engine. Does this carb require two gaskets for some reason??

sometimes the double thickness is needed for proper spacing and heat dissipation just making a thicker gasket will not always work - same basic reason for laminating an ignition coil's steel core, for example.
