Gravely ZT2352 Zero-turn engine problems

Postby samcarpen » Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:28 am

Md 915050, serial 010115 with a Kohler spec no. PS-75579 serial no. 3501904851. Starts running poorly after about 5 minutes of cutting grass though smooths out when PTO is disengaged. Once PTO is reengaged, again runs poorly. To me, it acts like a coil is failing. Can't find a engine IPL. Research points that a Kohler 2458445-S coil is correct for this engine. Trying to verify if this is true. Would also like to be able to locate a IPL.

Thanks, Sam

Could it be a wiring issue/component in a kill circuit. I once dealt with a mower cutting out after it heated up with a pinched safety circuit wire.

No problem finding the CV23-75579 engine IPL here and yes the PN you have for the coil is correct.

And a failing plug or plug wire terminal can cause the same thing. Also check the PTO clutch current draw as be causing the voltager dropping too much and fuel solenoid is partially closing.
