Nikki carburetors...yuck!

Postby dart451 » Sun Mar 29, 2020 3:41 pm

I'm getting pretty tired on Nikki carburetors! Got tractor back after I replaced the carburetor last year...crankcase filled with gas again! Took the bowl of carb and I guess the ethonol is eating the rubber gaskets pretty good! The gasket came off in pieces and the O-ring was as flat as a pancake! Put new gaskets in and the engine still surges! Ran fine for about 3 minutes and then started surging again...

I don't have much problem at with these carbs. Now a couple years ago I did get in a batch of Briggs OEM gaskets that were defective. But hopefully you are using OEM gaskets and not some aftermarket ones as I never had any good luck with them.

That's probably my problem then KE4AVB...I'm pretty sure I do not have OEM gaskets!
