Snapper ZTR

Postby Gerry » Fri Apr 10, 2020 3:37 pm

Model: YZ20484BVE 84399 Problem is blades are not getting up to speed when PTO is engaged. It has a new Oregon belt that is to fit. All the pulleys turn good, I greased the idler pivot arm and spindles. Spring is in place and strong. Blades RPM will not increase in any cutting height. Just an observation but it seems like the electric PTO is a tad puny when engaged compared to an Dixon, Exmark or Toro.

Thanks in advance.

Blades RPM is dependent on engine RPM. Otherwise something's slipping in which case you'd have binding bearings or idlers, slipping (too long?) belt or slipping (worn out or faulty PTO clutch) If nothing's slipping then you need a tach to check engine RPM under load.. if it's a V-Twin I'd do a power balance test to see if it is running on both cylinders.
