Quick question
What year did Briggs quit makeing the flathead engines, 13 cubic inch?

I believe around 1995 but don't quote me on that

i checked the Engine Sales Replacement manual.

2001 is the last year the old 13 cubic inch flathead was offered. This was equipped with the pulsa jet carburetor and the horizontal crankshaft. This was also the last year for the larger flatheads.

2010 is the last year for the 9 cubic inch flathead. These featured a float carburetor with the fuel tank located over the carburetor.

2014 is the last year the 12 cubic inch quantum (push mower engine) was listed. Production continued into 2015. The distributors purchased large quantities of these and continued offering old stock until 2018.

2001 is the last year the opposed twin was listed in the sales manual. My understanding is production ended in may 2002.
