Honda lawn mower carb jet issue??

Postby dart451 » Tue Apr 05, 2022 5:36 pm

Working on a Honda HRX217K5VLAA lawnmower for a customer. The man wants a new carburetor on the mower and also a high altitude main jet put in it...he lives at about 6000 ft. altitude. It appears that the main jet is a #68 that comes from the factory. Is this an issue? Can high altitude jets be purchased?

Hi Dart

Someone else who understands the difference that elevation makes to a non adjustable carburetor. If you ever took any flight training, that's one of the first things you learn when climbing to altitude. Here's what I've been able to find for the Honda engine on the lawnmower in question (Honda part numbers).

P/N 99101-124-0680 # 68 jet for sea level to 3,000 feet
P/N 99101-124-0650 # 65 jet for 3,000 to 6,000 feet ASL
P/N 99101-124-0620 # 62 jet for 6,000 feet ASL and over

Hope this points you in the right direction,

Sky
