Also straighten your posted link. You need to be using the URL commands to wrap the link.

and don't so condescending as if you had the migraines I have you be lucky to even function some days. Even with me being use to them after 50 years I still hunt a dark quite place some days and just put work off. I just know when one is coming to try to my meds in time. Today wasn't one of them as I awoke with one.

Merely pointing out the obvious, is all, especially In light of the fact that the butchered up cable lugs were staring you right in the face. Replacing the lugs would have been my first step. How could /would you overlook them, and proceed to test? Sorry, I don't get it. The importance of good solid battery/ground connections has been discussed on here numerous times, correct? As well as voltage drop testing, right?
A mind is a terrible thing to waste...

Just getting time for Lunch break...

Well I sorry for posting a good training exercise for those not experience in electrical problems. I wouldn't do that again, like I am not posting any more my problems here. I am going dark and just manage the forum set in the evenings if I am not too tire so I'll be watching the traffic as I don't time to play right now.

I already getting back logged on work here. Currently have a 757, Z955A, LT160, 390XP, 359, a Little Red and a Wisconsin powered Ditch Witch in for repairs. The Huskee I finished rebuilding the deck Sunday and the 737 out Saturday.

I think he did get it - right off the bat - it was posted more as a "Dilemma" sort of post to try and see if others might think it through correctly.. far as I saw the only thing that might have seemed mysterious was the voltage reading at a point where there should have been no voltage by way of it back-feeding through the ground side - It is something that has tripped up many many techs - even those with years of electrical experience, which even the best of them can be caught up with the high-tech DVOM (and many would have ignored the terminal lugs which as KE4 noted he had already seen those and decided on replacing anyway)

The whole post would be an excellent training and learning exercise for any technician - even those that believe they have excellent electrical skills.

As you may recall I have posted a couple of those "dilemma" type posts as well, for the very same reasons.
