Carb lookup for older briggs and stratton engine??

Postby dart451 » Sat May 23, 2015 2:49 pm

Hello,

Trying to find parts for an older briggs engine w/points, 80302-0016-01. I usually use Tulsa Engine for parts lookup but I do not find anything with this model number!? The briggs numbers seem to stop at 699999... Help!

Why do they change the trim from "01" to "99" on the older engines?

Thank you BGengine...I would not have thought of that...haven't worked on a points engine for at least a decade!

Obsoleted trim codes - does not matter any more, so they now only have the one trim code since the decals, trim, etc are all obsolete anyway. simplifies lookups.

With the new online lookups for Briggs engines all the 5-digit models need to be looked up with a leading 0 in the model number, and usually easier to find by leaving off the trim code so a 9T902-0036-E1 will easily be found by searching on 09T902-0036 or a 80302-0016-01 easily found by searching with 080302-0016
