Briggs & Stratton Model Number

Greetings all,

J and L Industries has been very busy so I haven't been here much but I have run into a problem and I thought maybe one of you could help me. I have a 196? Simplicity Land Lord machine here and I can not locate the model number at the B&S site, that number is: 230. That's all it has, nothing else in the model number section of the ID plate at all. This is the entire number: Model 230 Type 0129 01 Code 87888. The problem is my customer replaced the carburetor and can not get the governor linkage correctly configured so it actually works. Anyone got a picture? Or if you need anything else to identify this let me know.

I believe you have a model 23D. The factory service manual is still available, p/n CE8069, through your local dealer.

from one of the antique tractor site, I found your tractor is a 1964.
