After a couple more good starts I might even try the old coil again.

Surprising isn't it? I have had luck with that but it did not work with a Duraforce yesterday. I tried the old "Bake" procedure with 3 coils restoring all 3 temporarily. I have not had good results with that previously. I sprayed each immediately to try to moisture proof them. We'll see how long one works.

So. I thought it needed a new primer bulb so mower has sat until today. Primer seemed ok today when I pushed it so I just tried to start it. No go. Put the spark tester on it. No spark. So the new coil from China had arrived so I went to put it on. Does not fit. I bought this one. It clearly claimed to replace 683080.

but I think it is same as this one that does not claim to replace 683080. https://www.bantasaw.com/catalog/viewpr ... 151&p=5341. The one I need is this one. https://www.bantasaw.com/catalog/viewpr ... 151&p=1342
So I tried the one on it but reset the gap. No spark. So I decided to clean up the very original coil that was on it and try it . No spark. But I decided to test my spark tester. Put it on a rider and yes it did spark. Not sure why but I went back to the lawnboy and pushed the tester firmly into the plug lead and grounded other end . Now I had a spark. ugh. Was it just that I had not pushed hard enough the other times. So now with spark mower still not starting. I remove air filter and shot in some carb cleaner. And away she went. Wonder what I will get in a day or two.
