Postby Az Shadeguy » Tue Feb 16, 2016 6:58 pm

I have a Briggs 8 hp Model 190412-3020-01
I ordered a new type recoil part number 693900 and the shaft on the engine is to long

When I look it up I find 390391 which supersedes to 693900.

I have to believe it was an aftermarket part and perhaps that is the problem. Any P/N identification on it?

User friendly to use a 4 inch grinder. Leave the flywheel nut on. I placed a big magnet by the grinder discharge to catch the metal.
Here is a link I posted sometime back about doing the conversion to the later model cup type on a Briggs 12hp vertical.
