John Deere PTO Clutch

Postby dunoon2 » Sat Apr 09, 2016 8:32 am

I need to remove a PTO clutch on a JD X520. I never pulled a clutch on this model before. On all the other PTO clutches I've pulled, you remove the center bolt and they fall right off. This one doesn't it seems kinda loose but, just won't come off. Question is, is there something else holding it on? Thanks in advance.

Check the anti rotation arm other than that it should just come off; unless, someone put it on without the anti-seize compound.

I do too. I hate destroying good PTO clutches just to remove the engine but I have done it twice on Cub cadet ZTRs. The cubs also like to rust the ground pulley on the crankshaft if no anti-seize used
