Do most of the small diesels follow a similar bolt pattern where they mount at the sides of the engine block? say a caterpillair 28hp found in some zero turns and a kubota d1105

thought i would try asking anyways.

Hmm you know, you would tend to think so, as many equipment manufacturers that use the engines may want an identical bolt pattern so they can specify any given engine to fit a standardized design .. It's fairly common with most small gas engines, but I have no idea if they might do so with diesels...

just got a big ferris with a cat that ran with a crankcase full of diesel... i think its no good, low compression on two cylinders and cat parts are too much.
looking to possibly repower with a kubota d1105 as the ferris only has 800 hrs.
