Does Anyone Have a Good Used Carburetor?

Postby Skywatcher » Tue May 09, 2017 10:37 pm

Greetings All

As there is no for sale and wanted sub-forum on this site, I figured I'd post here for a start. Does anyone have a good used B&S # 791230 manual choke carburetor? This is a 2 barrel carburetor for a vertical shaft V-twin engine on an MTD garden tractor. The low speed jets were drilled out so the engine just blows black smoke at anything less than full load at full throttle. Please PM me if you have anything. Thanks and all the best,

Sky

Think your numbers are off. Think it should be. 407777-0128-e1. Sorry for the edit hit the wrong thing b4 I was done. I'll check the shop tommorow. I haven't had much luck on rebuilding those as they like to always run on one cylinder and then both and back again. I'll check.

Hi Again

38 is correct about the exchange, shipping and import duty, the price we end up paying for something from the US is usually about double in Canadian dollars than what's posted in US dollars. If the seller decides to ship via UPS, we get dinged an extra $50.00 to $75.00 brokerage fee on top of everything else. I can order a new carb direct from Power Source Canada for just under $200.00 Canadian, so $85.00 US is no real saving by the time I get it here. This is why I was hoping to find a good used one. Thanks for your thoughts though,

Sky

P.S.
Yes Luffy, you are correct. Looking at the ID tag, the -51 is in fact an E1. Sometimes it's hard to read these numbers when they've been almost rubbed off.

Didn't have any good looking carbs laying around. Most of the time we replace and then discard them. But will keep the ole eye out.
