Gravely Model L Low Compression

Postby dunoon2 » Tue May 22, 2018 7:45 am

Hi, I've owned this tractor for over 30 years and it has never given me any problems. Starts first or second pull after setting all winter. The other day while mowing I hit a hidden rock and it stopped imedently . Trying to start it it seemed that the compression was lower than normal. I pulled the head to see if anything was amiss, everything looked and acted normal. Before I tear into this does anyone have any idea where to look? Thanks

If this is the Gravely T head engine, the valve lash is .012 for both cold. I fear you may have bent a stem.
