I need to make a note of that in the service manual for the Courage single. Apparently someone at Kohler changed the wiring colors but did note in the service materials. The manufactures are getting worse about making changes but not letting us know.

So yellow and blue were inputs to the rectifier with yet another wire out to the battery?

No...yellow and blue were DC OUT...two whites came from under the shroud and into the rectifier...then Y and B came out.
It looked like four wire coming out at the same point but when I looked closer I saw the Y and B were actually coming from the rectifier and I could see the R/W went to the solenoid.

Thank you . I add a note to my copy of the SM noting the wiring setup you noted for that spec.

Good to see ya back posting. Wondering if you were hid out or?

I've got some neighbors (couple families in same house) and they are usually visible and waving at my old truck and traffic going by on the dirt road and then they will not be visible (they just evaporate) for few months. (and pit bulls in yard) I suspect they run and hide in the woods and under the bed when they hear traffic coming due to maybe a warrant out for their arrest, waiting for things to cool off. ;)

on a bridge rectifier aren't there usually the 2 ACs in and a DC + out and a ground - out? Or is that what you mean by yellow and blue were dc out ie measuring across them gives the DC to apply a load. , not each giving DC if connected to a chassis ground.

The yellow and blue came from the same terminal......Like a "Y"
The ground is through the body of the rectifier
