Manufacture date Toro companies products

I have been unable to determine the manufacture date of various Toro lawn mowers, snow blowers, and Lawn Boy lawn mowers that I have worked on. I have looked around on the Toro website and can't find anything. I am assuming the serial number is the key. Does anyone know how to determine manufacture date for these products?

So in the olden days 89xxxxxxx was a 1989. I'm thinking when we hit 2000 it changed slightly and the 2nd and 3rd were the year IE 312 was a 2012.
