Looking for a part number

Postby bob » Sat Jun 29, 2019 9:03 am

Trying to find a part number. I have MTD Yard Machine lawn tractor - 13HP Enduro Engine ( which I do not think is orginal), 38" deck, shift on the go and Made in Canada but no model number, it has been removed. The steering shaft is shot which is the all one piece style and mine is 20" in length. MTD has a number of them on line but they all seem to be longer. Can some one help me either with the part number or a guess at the model. I am thinking maybe around late 1990's just because it is a 38" deck. Thankyou

Mtd did use that Tecumseh engine on riders. I have a parts unit that is 38" and had Tecumseh. It's a 13nm4nmf.. . had another 400 series that I might have shaft from too. Are you in canada? I get shaft for 600 series from http://www.bantasaw.com although just did a quick look and didn't see it listed anymore.

Yes that is it. FND on fender and speed selector on dash. Your unit had a Tecumseth Enduro 13 hp engine OHV? Lawn tractor is Yard Machine red in colour. The number you gave me 13nm4nmf is the mtd model number? Cant find anything on internet. Is it a 600 series

Your model number is usually under the seat on the seat attachment frame. It will start with 13 and contain an "F" for the 38" deck. Once you post this model number then we can lookup the parts.

the n and m vary. i'll see if model is on it. my is ctc mastercraft but i actually put transferred engine to a friend's that blew rod and that might have been labelled yard machines. all the same mtd stuff.
I suspect this is what you need. I have one in my used parts bin.

Looks like that goes for $76 at the Ottawa MTD parts place. Even Canadapost should ship it for way less that . The one I have came off a 400 series 137H453F590 (White Outdoor made by MTD). Where abouts are you located?

Just came back from a short trip through Orillia to Penetanguishine to Eugenia to Collingwood to Fenelon falls and back home. Nephew manages one of the Swiss Chalets in Barrie. I'll box it and get a shipping quote on Tuesday. Happy Canada Day tomorrow.

Thats sounds great but how will I pay. To bad we did not know before you made your trip. I am just between Collingwood and Barrie. I am sure we could have met some where.
