Briggs carb

Got a 44R677 0021-G1 151030YG with a carb leak. The inlet supply elbow is leaking around the elbow where it is pressed into the carburetor body. Anyone ever undertaken a repair like this or is the carb need to be replaced?

Yup that is generally a new carb. However, that is not to say it could not be repaired with a little ingenuity... depends on the design and construction.. usually not a whole lot to work with and end up cracking the carb body, in many cases..

Well that the first I heard of with one these carbs. Getting a jig to just press the fitting will take some work and lightly knurling either the fitting or the carburetor will tighten up the fit. You might be better off going with Chinese clone in this case.

I never had one loose but had several with throttle and choke shaft holes worn out and I have made custom bushings for those.

in considering any repair, also consider the risk. The fuel line to this fitting contains fuel under pressure and is located over the muffler / exhaust area. If the repair fails and fuel drips on the exhaust pipes and muffler, fire is likely.

Thanks guy, leaning towards no trying to repair just take to long and to much aggravation.
