497595 is actually use on larger engines than the 7 and 8 hp ones according to Briggs Power Portal.
The main different is the length the starter housing (the section with the permanent magnets). The 497595 has a 3-5/8 housing and the 795121 has a 4-3/8 housing. One other different that the 497595 has a tang on the mount plate where the 795121 does not.
Now the 795121 can replace the 497595 if you have the clearance but the 497595 cant replace the 795121; unless, the tang is cutoff, plus you have a much weaker starter to crank with too.
