Nikasil cylinder wall plating

Did Briggs or Tecumseh use Nikasil plating (or something similar) on the aluminum bore engines they manufactured?

Nope (Well, maybe possibly on their 2-strokes, but I don't recall ever reading about it in manuals or tech info..)

No. The later I/C engines had a cast iron sleeve and no plating on the piston.

Thank you both for the information. :) Over the years I have had "various individuals" state that they did have the Nikasil plating, however, I was not convinced. In addition, I have never once seen any mention of it in all of the Briggs repair manuals I have.
