Craftsman Trimmer Carb

Postby lefty » Thu Aug 10, 2023 3:51 pm

Model: 316.79190
Serial: 1E128DB0924

I ordered a carb for this one and decided to take a run at the original in the meantime. I put a carb kit in it. I noticed that when I hooked it up to test it that fuel is finding its way into the venturi while pushing the purge bulb. Is this normal? I thought pushing the bulb just purged air from the circuit.

Thanks.

Appears the carb is PN 753-05215 which appears to be a Walbro WT-798-1. I seen both primer bases and lost welch plugs cause this.

Gardner say they have two of the MTD753-05215 and both Gardner and RBI have two each of the Walbro WT-798-1. This is a discontinue product so only NOS currently available or after market.

Great advice as usual. I replaced the primer assembly and that fixed the issue.

Thank you.
