Tecumseh HM80 carb rebuild kit

Postby Dale_W » Sat Dec 02, 2023 1:46 pm

Good Day everyone!

HM80 155356N SER 8245R

IPL shows the carb is part number 632334A

The IPL's that I am finding do not show a carb rebuild kit, or even a carb breakdown.

I should mention the float looks like a truck ran over it, and yes, it does have gasoline in it. I'll need to order a float too.

Would the expert here have access to the correct rebuild kit number?

Also, any guess as to the age of the engine? It is mounted on an old Bohlens snow blower.

Thank you.

Tecumseh PN 632334A IPL

https://www.partstree.com/models/tec-632334a-tecumseh-carburetor/carburetor-0/

You have guess at which decade it is 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998, 2008, etc. Of course there won't be a 2018 as Tecumseh went under in 2009.

Son of a gun!
I love partstree. You just entered the part number 632334A into the search box, didn't you.
I should have known that.

Thank you much for your help.

Hi Dale

When it comes to figuring out how old a Tecumseh engine is, there are two basic reference points.
One: If the engine has breaker points and condenser ignition system behind the flywheel, the engine was built prior to 1982.
Two: Tecumseh went to a 5 digit date code in 2002 and as KE4 says, Tecumseh stopped manufacturing engines in 2009. Your engine has the 4 digit date code. All the best,

Tnx Sky for the info; added it to my local service manual for future reference.
