tecumseh carb nozzles

Postby 38racing » Sun Jan 21, 2024 5:46 pm

I''m looking at refreshing a tecumseh snowblower carb. Container is labelled 'from Bob's 8hp' . My recollection is a friend came into possession of an old murray that didn't run right. As quick fix I threw on a different carb and he sold the blower. Now I have another , no history , 8hp not running right so I've' USCd the bob one. Checking it out. Manufacturing number is 5002 which is supposedly 640349. Looking that up I see a nozzle of 640113 which is pink. Nozzle in mine is green. They are definitely different in structure.googling green nozzle I find part 640005 which maps to a 640052carb and interestingly says superceded to 640349. I'm going to assume someone just grabbed a nozzle without looking stuff up. I will refresh with the pink one and report back.

I am getting some different info when I search pn 640005 nozzle. Partstree is saying it is for the 640052 carb which is superseded to 640349 carb. Probably just as typo on your part. Either way the 640052 probably had different passages then the replacement 640349 carb.

Also the 640005 Green nozzle is use in the 640105 (5088) carb.

Prices do vary depending who you are looking at. Both my main distributors has the 640113 for $3.22 ea. US. But the shipping is a killer if order below free ship level and above min order size it is $14-$15.

Repairclinic shows at 8$usd but surprised to see in stock at 3.20 $cad. I'm going to check some other nozzles there and I want a couple oem blower drive wheels as my aftermarket seem to shred. Might find enough for free shipping.

These nozzles is just something I don't need here as when Tecumseh went under back in 2009 so did most the repairs for them. Same thing seems to be happening to Briggs now here I think I saw 4 Briggs engines all of last year.
