Do you want to get the machine running or is this just an academic exercise?

To get the machine running:

If after an ultra sonic cleaning, you still believe that it's the carb that's giving you trouble then it's time to cut your losses and just buy a new carb.

From the model and carb part numbers given, you can buy a new carb from $27 to probably $50. OEM or aftermarket, the choice is yours. Search the usual places, Amazon, eBay, or your favorite parts distributor.

Academic exercise: Enjoy this forum and have fun.

By the time you sepnd around $22 and time plus gas for a kit...you might as well have a new carb shipped to your door.

Hi acscolo ....

Is helping an elderly neighbor an academic exercise? If so...then that's what I am doing.

I doubt it will need more than a new needle and seat (probably just the seat). I probably have one kicking around. So....

Thanks for your reply....

By all means if this is a labor of love and helping a neighbor, then spend the 5 bucks and put in the needle and seat and hope it fixes it. But I happen to agree with BOBODU.
