Seen a Yankee awhile back that moved to Oklahoma in the summertime and while I was talking to him he was constantly scratching. I asked him why he was scratching and he lifted his britches leg and his ankles were raw and he said his groin area had all the skin scratched off. When I told him he had chiggers he wanted to know what they looked like.
I told him to not worry about their looks and to take a good hot bath with strong dose of Lysol, add Lysol until the water turns white.
Seen him few days later and he said that Lysol bath stopped him from scratching and it must have killed them and he actually thanked me.
I did not know about the blinker fluid at the time or I would have recommended it to the New Yorker as a preventive.
