Mobile Small Engine Business For Sale

Postby Mek-a-nik » Sun Apr 09, 2017 10:09 am

Hi Folks. I haven't been on here for quite a while. As some may recall, I shut down my mobile repair business before last season started. I did it for a few reasons, a shoulder surgery being the main one.
I currently have an ad selling the business on Craigslist. I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd post a link to my ad in case anyone in this area (Cape May, NJ) reads this.
The customer list, of course would have no value to anyone not in this immediate area.
The two main assets are the truck and the inventory. I would probably sell either of those individually. I couldn't piece out the inventory though, it would be very labor intensive trying to sell small lots.

Good luck. I have considered doing something similar part time to supplement my pension but it would possibly turn into more than I want.

That's one thing that was happening to me. Apparently, I was doing a good job and word was spreading. I didn't want to expand. It would be a good opportunity for someone .

Boy I wished I only had 10K in inventory. Not even planning on going mobile. Customers are hard enough to get them to pay repair bills. I done had to sue one and I have sold two their mowers for non-payment in the last year alone.

And this don't even include the 3K in stock orders that haven't arrive yet. And yes I know this a small amount but for a shop my size it is quite a bit.

Non payment and inventory are the two reasons I quit. Add the fact that so many people are hiring out the snow removal and mowing. My day job pays the bills and I now buy equipment cheap on facebook with problems that I am pretty sure I can fix quickly. Carbs, belts etc. Fix em up quick and resell for $100 over cost usually.....sometimes a lot more!! Also branched off into outboards. Also have taken to making ring out of silver coins and one ounce rounds...Image

Glad...The ones here are not those flimsy pans but heavy cast iron. One time was enough with a #10 was all it to straighten me out when I was teenager.
