And it does seems the law enforcement side just won't enforce the laws if it requires them to get off their backsides and actually earn their pay.. Now if was a big shot government official wanting something done they would break their necks jumping on it.

Even the post office has returned the signed receipt of delivery of the letter yet.

I had one a few years back who wrote me a check on a closed account. I did as you with the paper work and the DA when after him with a felony. In short the judge give me repair dollars and extra for the time I had in the case.

Well an update of sorts. I went this morning first called the DA which sent me the to circuit court, and they sent to the County Sheriff's Department. I ended failing a complaint so they can follow thru. According the DA they will need to issue an arrest warrant for the lawyer.

At first they tried to get out of it saying they could do any because it was an out of state check until they found out it was wrote in state. That changed everything now they are working the case. I carry all my records in including a copy of my business license to prove I wasn't just some individual.

Hopefully this will get the ball rolling now.

I hope you get your money back KE4AVB. I owned a shop for 30 years and was lucky most of the time to not get beat out of money. I did have this one jerk who wanted his power steering fixed on his Ford truck. The power steering sector was shot and he talked me into buying an OEM one from a Ford dealer. I think back then my cost was $600. He wouldn't pay me after I let him have his truck. I knew this person well and he had always paid me in the past what little I did work for him.
This rocked on for 6 months and still no pay. I knew where he worked so I called him and told him if he didn't pay me by the end of that week I would come to his work parking lot and remove the sector. He said I couldn't do that.
Well, even after my wife begging me to let it go, away I went with tools to remove the sector. I was under his truck with the sector almost off here he comes and asked me what I was doing under his truck. I explained to him in not so nice a way that I was getting what was mine off his truck. He said if I would put the sector back on he would write me a post dated check. I said ok but if the check wasn't any good I would be back. The check was good but I had to wait a month to cash it.
Would I do this today ? No. I was much younger back then and they way I viewed it back then that sector belonged to me.

Be careful, here that is known as 'theft by conversion' which is a criminal offence. Not knowing any better I once tried that but the guy backed down. After that it was 50% up front and balance on delivery in cash, no cheques.

lol, that was 40 plus years ago. I did lots of crazy things back then . I am retired now but at my shop everyday. I don't do work for the public anymore . Stopped that long time ago. I am still busy but this time I can come and go when I please. People stop in and ask me what I do in my shop now. I tell them I am trying to figure it out . lol Hope I got a few more years here but time ain't on my side :)
