Kawasaki fz400d-AS04 CARBURETOR

Postby rdtripp » Fri Dec 13, 2013 6:47 pm

I need the following for a Kawasaki fz400d-AS04

16041-2113 SHAFT-CARBURETOR

or

15001-2891 CARBURETOR-ASSY

Kawasaki doesn't make this any more. :bricks: Hoping to find someone with NOS or a good salvage part. I have an otherwise good generator that is in need of this.

Thanks

The parts I need are listed all over the web but no one actually has them in stock. I've called or emailed numerous companies only to be told they didn't have stock on the items and Kawasaki has discontinued them. My only chance is either a dealer having NOS on the shelf or someone parting out an engine.

You may need to do what I have done in the past with older Kohler carburetor shafts. If the guides are still good in the carburetor, take the old shaft and lightly brazed new brass on it and work it back down round and to the size needed to fit the carburetor. This worked for me and save me from buying a new carburetor that was over $200.00.

That works, and even if the body is worn, with the right tools and some know-how you can ream out the carb throttle shaft bores and re-bush.

:) Try these places: Outdoor dist, Scrubber City and Amazon. They all list that shaft. :usa:

Tried those places and many more. These parts must have been discontinued very recently as everyone still has them listed but no one actually has them or can get them.

I'm probably going to just build one. I've got a lathe and a mill so it's doable.
