Free All penetrating Fluid

Postby KE4AVB » Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:50 am

Just wondering if anyone tried the Free All penetrating fluid or am I the first here to make a try of it. It claims to dissolve rust making screws easier to remove.

First I haven't actual got to try it yet but I have some on order. One of my customers was able remove a blade screw that I nor other shops could loosen with our impacts and pull bars on a Gravely HD52 ZTR.

I said it worth a try at $20 for two spray cans. I will let you know how goes here once I received it. Nothing else has worked as promised; although the 50/50 Acetone/Transmission fluid works fairly well here.

Sounds about right. Only penetrating oil I have ever used that I'd absolutely swear by is Kroil (kano laboratories - you can buy it factory direct)

I haven't tried the Kroil. To be honest I have basically gave up any of the penetrating products, so the trans/acetone mix seems to work the best. Just got to fine something that I can put it in and pressurize it.

The Free All was suppose de-solve rust which here it doesn't. If it did then may it would creep up the threads. I do admit the last screw was salt attacked as it the whole truck under carriage.

Kroil does creep very well, and it turns rust into a brown mess.. Caveat being, it can take some time, (a day or two of soaking for badly rusted stuff) Only penetrating oil I have seen that you can soak a rusty part in it for a week or two and when you pull it out, the rust (or the vast majority of it) is gone, or just wipes off with a rag. It's pretty pricey.. (Oh I see they have changed it now and no longer sell direct, but you get it places like Amazon, MSC, Grainger, McMaster-Carr, etc these days.. However if you do buy on amazon, make damn sure you're buying from a legit seller or the company itself, as I would not be surprised to see some sellers packaging and labelling their own stuff as Kroil...) https://www.kanolabs.com/

I will have to wait to later this year to give the Kroil oil a try, Currently I am deep in the red due it being the off season and that two JackA customers didn't pay their large repair bills after getting their equipment. I still awaiting on the law enforcement to to arrest them on felony charges.
