Oil Extractor

Postby Greyfox » Tue Mar 11, 2014 2:38 pm

Something that saved me many hours is my oil extractor. It is particularly useful for equipment that are mounted in such a way as to make it exceedingly difficult (for me it was prochem truckmounts) to get to the oil drain plug and/or is position such that it gets all over the place. I just drop it down the dipstick tube and i can walk away to do something else

Hi Greyfox

An alternative to oil extractors is to fit the piece of equipment with a Drainzit® oil drain hose. May not work in every situation, but once installed, it stays with the machine and may even encourage the owner/operator to do his or her own oil changes. All the best,

I totally agree with you, though often times the piece of equipment is mounted inside a van for me so i would have to charge more than most people are willing to pay to get in there and instal one, though it is most definitely preferable and i am always happy when i run into a machine that has one on it.

They also come in handy changing tranny fluid on cars. I always seem to have a leak after I crack open the pan....
