In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

Some members sometimes get provoked into replying to these threads. I have learned it best to keep a civil attitude when replying and those involved will see they are getting no where and quit; and sometimes they just keep posting then I just sit back let them hang themselves. It sorta like what D2M did to his self here over a year ago and got barred from the forum.

Look at how the hard heads over in the Middle East and the Far East are fighting just because some wants to be a pain in someone else backside. They have been at it for years upon years. Worst there is no changing them either.

What going in this thread and the other one is disheartening to me. All parties to these threads needs to step back and see if they would like to be on the receiving end of these posts. Sometimes there is no getting along some individuals. It sorta like my brother's attitude which is constantly getting him into trouble with co-workers and ends up losing his job over stupidity.
The truest measure of society is the how it treats its elderly, its pets, and its prisoners.

Hey I was not the first to bring up colonoscopy's.

Post by bobodu » Mon Feb 22, 2016 6:47 pm

Does this guy sound a LOT like anyone else we know....er...KNEW?
I suspect he doesn't have a lot of friends...or real customers either...
I still wanna know if he replaces all the bowl gaskets on the carbs he opens up for some weird reason...

I open up the carb because the float level is off, and to make sure there is no crap in the carb. Boxes of carb parts/gskts to replace as required.

Who is assuming that I do it to every carb at tune up? Sorry bobodu you started in on me, ban me if you must I do not care.

How many of you get a colonoscopy when you go in for a routine checkup??
I am assuming that you are also charging the customer for a carb kit or are you just slapping it back together without replacing the bowl gasket??

So mr moderator I have no real customers or friends and you sir are a fine moderator, you attacked me.

So get your panties out of a bunch. I have and have moved on........

Actually, dude, it came about when you unloaded on *me* in your other post jumping all over my opinion and accusing me of telling you how to run your business (which I didn't if you'd read a little more carefully) and the assumption that you did it at every tune up because that is *exactly* how you titled the original post that started all this..

Could have been worded better.. as has been noted already - it is helpful to sit back and re-read what you wrote before hitting the submit button.. (and there is also an "edit" button you may not be aware of for after you make the post..) As with any other forum, a little more care needs to be taken to be sure what you type is what you actually mean to say - "tone of voice" is hard to convey in a forum... and as you have discovered, it is all too easy to mis-understand a reply when the reply is based on assumptions being made due to your own implied meanings based solely on what you wrote - even though you were thinking "when a problem shows up, check the carb float level instead of just throwing a new carb at it" - what you actually wrote seemed to be saying "check the carb float level on every tune up job"

I am glad he is gone, we don't need or want his arrogance here. If he treats others like this he won't be in business or keep a job for long.

Could I have asked or replied differently ahhhh .
You all are questioning my business or if I have any friends?
Wow what children.

And it comes from a moderator ?? And the rest of the internet bully's hop on the train.

Try this take 10 known and running B/S engines with the replaceable seat and check the float level and report back what you find.

No one is questioning your business or practices as far as I have read. Maybe think about getting that chip off your shoulder... and personally I could care less whether you have friends or not.. we are professionals here. if you got a technical question, by all means ask it.. if you don't like the answer, feel free to go elsewhere for an opinion you are happy with.

and a couple of admins. as noted it started with your original post and reply to the response... jumping all over someone for mis understanding a poorly worded and titled post isn't a way to make a good impression.

No one doubts that - plenty of us know very well that is the case. 7 out of 10 of these that have the carb removed (for known running issues) show that to be the case. and from experience, we have had a few where the carb was *looked at* since it was removed anyway for other service, the float level was just fine and engine ran right after the other issues were fixed - without doing anything to the carburetor (since it was just a case of pop the bowl off, take a look, and pop it back on.. a couple did need new bowl gaskets due to the effects of ethanol fuel swelling the gasket.). - short answer, if the engine runs correctly, the float level may safely be assumed to be just fine and not an issue, thus, no reason to R&R the carb and check float level as part of a tune-up, which your original post (that started this whole mess) implied.

All you are doing at this point is trying to justify your own responses and "bait" others into a negative reaction.. which obviously you have managed to do.

Moderators (and admins) are not infallible - neither are members... so by all means please do continue to bait the mods and admins and everyone else - which is what you have been doing - and get a ban.. basically we're just giving you all the rope you need to hang yourself.. .. frankly I am surprised you've lasted this long.. most like you will discover they don't have much luck at starting drama, and go on to some other forum where the trolling strategy works better. Here, people are a little more patient, and a little more forgiving.. but you can only push just so far.
