Hi Everyone, I haven't logged in for a while. I have a question about towing a car, for which I'll start a separate thread. But I thought I'd update on the attempt to sell my business and the bus driving.
School bus driving is all about the kids. The younger they are, the more they think they are in a moving playground. However, the district provides good support, and when I run out of methods to deal with them, I "write 'em up", and the disciplinarian deals with the student(s). Also, that way, there is a record of the behavior. Overall, they're good kids and listen to what I have to say.
I didn't get around to advertising my business until August. I only had two seriously interested parties. I probably was a little high in my asking price, but I'd rather be high, and come down, than sell it too cheap. I'm going to wait until the winter gets going to try again. I also need to find a different medium to advertise in, I was using the local "sell-it'" type paper. Not many people spending (relatively) large amounts of money in there. It seems the interest I did get seemed to think they don't need to buy it until Spring, and then they'll jump right in. I suggested buying now and getting some time running it while it's not busy. That way, when the phone doesn't stop, they'll be more ready.
I'm starting out by advertising the truck, the inventory, and the customer list. I'll break it up, if need be. The truck is a 14' step van and I'd love to get it out of the driveway. (I'll bet my wife would like to see it go, too!)
