Personally I never owned a Ford Pickup of any kind. Test drove one years ago and it was too wimpy for my needs. It would even a local hill without downshifting and that was with nothing but me and the empty truck. Even my mother's Nissan 720 had more towing capacity. It pull that same building out the ditches I had dug to get the trailer under the building and that was with tongue jack plowing up the ground. So far my main trucks have been Dodge D150 and the Chevy S1500 that I have now. I admitted trailer brakes would be nice addition for stopping as I have slide the S1500 a couple times. Both of them have towed 6500 combined weight of trailer and scrape iron. Both also are automatic transmissions.
