Tine Shaft Bearings on Troybilt Horse Tiller

Postby Skywatcher » Fri Nov 25, 2016 12:46 am

Greetings All, and Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends south of the 49th.

Working on a late 1970's Troybilt Horse rototiller, replacing tine shaft, bearings, seals and worm shaft bearing. Does anyone know the correct preload on the tines haft taper roller bearings for the tine shaft, and how to achieve it. Also, is there preload or play on the worm shaft bearing? At the moment, I have zero play and zero preload on the tine shaft bearings with no gasket between gear case and closure plate. Any help appreciated. All the best,

Sky

No pre load just end play setting using shims.

Dropping you a PM with SM link.

Also you can under MTD service link in the Downloads Forum if you needing the ones for the Ponies.
