Have a log splitter that needed a engine replacement. So the guy has brought me a junk tiller with a Briggs engine on it he's wanting to do a swap. Old engine missing all the numbers and so is the splitter. Tiller engine numbers is 121302-0216-e1... 040211-fd the mounting bracket for the pump to old engine will fit flat against the sump but with the tiller engine the bracket hits on the shaft before it hits the sump and of corse bolts are too short and the bracket rubbing the crank shaft is a problem. Is there a bracket for the hydro pump that will fit the tiller engine. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you-re going to need to engineer a solution.

It like putting 700R4 transmission in place of the 350C in 79 Malibu Classic. Crossover had to cut and move 3 inches rearward then rewelded, Driveshaft shorten 3 inches and hydraulic to electric controls installed. I won a $20 bet and got a free transmission fluid service from Amoco Transmission as the manager said I couldn't possibility have it in the car when I told I needed the 700R4 serviced.

Guess I will make the hole bigger that way it misses the crank and bolts flat right on the sump. I was looking at a part number w1265v0801 and 40081800 but they don't show the back where the hole would be big enough to clear the crank shaft and fit flat. Wondering if they have that quarter inch lip on the one side. Jobs can be difficult as times like your trans but don't never rule out another man way of thinking. Thank for your help

Going to look at the log splitters tommorow and get model numbers with the Briggs engine and look up parts might get luck and find the right one. I forgot to say his bracket for the pump is aluminum easy to drill out I think matching the sump roundness just to clear the seal.

Hopefully you are charging hourly (time + materials) on this one. If you had to provide a firm price/quote you could really lose your shorts on this one.

Well the Briggs 121212-0133-B8 that was used on the EarthQuake W1265 and the 121302-0216-E1 used the same crankshaft according to the IPLs so the W1265V0801 Spacer for the 12T pump and the Love Joy coupler should work. Note the 121212-0133-B8 and the 121302-0216-E1 did used different crankcase covers which changed to matched in 2007 on the 0218 type. IE same part number.

Yes I believe that's the one I am looking for to make this swap happen without issues or having to man something to fit. Yes creia flat rate to just remove both engines from the original equipment and replace to the other plus parts only way to do it and stay ahead. All tech stuff I punch a time clock in and out and try not to have any down time while on the clock. I try to help them by getting all the parts together and have everything on hand that way they r not paying for anything that they should be paying. But on the flip side of that I don't clock out until all tools and work area are clean and put back in the box and in a safe working condition for the next job and after start up and tests are done to make sure it is in good working order like it should be and expect for the customers to pick up.

Update: on the log splitter made a few mods to the bracket and added some small spacers and worked out great. Thanks for the help.
