Well they just killed another 55,000 with 3 miles of me. This time they had to have the state and county law enforcement to protect them. Sounds like the farmer wasn't too happy about it.

I believe it is Avian flu

Correct. H7N9 Avian Flu. Supposedly unrelated to Asian Version.

I am within the initial 10 radius quarantine zone. None my birds even been sick all Winter. Only lost two hens but that was because of a cat that found a way into the hen house which I relocated the cat; unlike, the mink that kill 22 chickens in two nights in 2015. He died of sever hollow point lead poisoning.

Thanks for the answer to my question.
It seems to make its' appearance every once in awhile.
A few years ago British Columbia chicken farmers had the same problem.
