The RB-K70A is the predecessor of the RB-K75 Right? The IPL is showing the K75.

I got one in that someone has monkey with the adjustments. Be mid week at least before I install the RB-188 kit; not n stock. And who ever it was weren't carefully about being clean either. Trash in the primer side.

On the idle is that just a brass plug over the idle mixture adjustment screw? Just in case I need to the idle mix.

And before someone says that Ripbay has them. I am not into those clones. Done had problems with them in the recent past I rather get a genuine Zama from my wholesaler.

Actually had one to destroy a Stihl trimmer as it failed 2 two days after delivery to customer that hurt as I paid for a new trimmer. They didn't get all the waste out the carburetor and it leaned it out when it partially blocked the H mixture.

Nope. RB-K70 is still current production and used on some prior models of the SRM-210 but the serial number you have uses the RB-K75

RB-K70 is part number A021000723 RB-K75 is part number A021000742 2 different carburetors.

From the service bulletin for SRM-210 adjustment (Applies to the correct RB-K75 carburetor :

General Adjustment Rules
Before starting the unit for adjustment, check the following items:
• Check for correct spark plug must be clean and properly gapped.
• The air filter element is clean and properly installed.
• The muffler spark arrestor screen and exhaust port are clear of carbon.
• The fuel lines, tank vent, and fuel filter are in good condition and clear of debris.
• The fuel is fresh ( > 89 octane : ) and properly mixed at 50 : 1 with “ISO L-EGD”
or “JASO-FC” 2-stroke oil.
• The nylon line head with properly cut lines (5 1/2" L) must be installed for proper engine loading.

Start and run engine for 5 minutes alternating rpm between Wide Open
Throttle (WOT) and idle every 5 seconds.
Adjust idle speed screw to 2,800 +/- 400 RPM . If engine does not run correctly after this adjustment, follow guidelines for carburetor adjustment with limiter caps removed.

1. Turn Idle mixture needle (C) and Hi mixture needle (D)
clockwise (CW) until lightly seated.
And then turn out both needles 1 1/2 turns.
NOTE :
The initial carburetor settings for idle adjust
screw, idle, and Hi
mixture needles are intended to start
and run the engine before final carburetor adjustments
are made to conform the unit to meet Emission Regulations. Actual turns required for engine operation may
vary.
2. Turn idle adjust screw (E) (CCW) until its tip just touches throttle plate (F). Then turn it in (CW) 2 5/8
turns.
3. Start engine and warm it up well for about 5 minutes with cycle of 5 seconds (WOT) and 5 seconds at idling.
4. Adjust Hi mixture needle (D) to obtain maximum (WOT) engine speed before for lean drop off.
(WOT) engine speed should be in the range of 8,000 to 10,000 RPM.
5. Turn Hi mixture needle (D) (CCW) to reduce (WOT) engine speed 50 RPM.
6. Adjust idle mixture needle (C) to obtain maximum idle speed just before lean engine RPM
drop.
7. Turn idle adjust screw (E) to set idle speed to 3,500 RPM. Engine RPM should be stable at 3,500 +/- 10 RPM.
8. Turn idle mixture needle (C) (CCW) to reduce idle speed 500 to 800 rpm in the range of 2,700 to 3,000 RPM.
NOTE :
Engine speed must be allowed to stabilize
a minimum of 20 seconds after each adjustment of
Lo mixture needle to assure accurate tachometer
readings.
9. Start engine again and make sure engine runs in the range of 2,400 to 3,200 RPM at idle and accelerates smoothly to 8,000 to 10,000 at (WOT).
10. After adjusting carburetor, insert and secure new cap(s) (G) P005001270 deep in the needle holes
per the Emission regulation using limiter cap tool.

Then someone has probably swapped carburetors on me then but it was used on older models I should be able to tune it to specs. If not then I order a new carburetor.

Will copy the 210 info to a PDF file here for future reference. Basically the same procedure for the 225 except for the WOT is higher.

Thanks for the info.

At least its not dial-up. Remember those days of 1200 baud?

Since I know where things are the text info is fine. That how I keep a lot of my older notes for yrs except now I keep them on the computer and a flash drive backup. Depending the the separator tube (brain) to access the visual aids. Really helps to visualize how things go together sometimes.

gee, I remember 300 baud. up until a couple of years ago a local restaurant's credit card machine software was still showing 'connecting at 2400 baud' even though it was not. lazy programmer just never updated the message.

Ke4avb you are right on the eBay junk. I bought 3 of the carbs for homeowners stihl trimmers. Everyone came back with the same symptom. Was overflowing. Live and learn. Never again for me either.

Boy what mess. No wonder it wouldn't run main jet/needle combo clogged. What a pain to get out. Previous tech had strip the head so I couldn't pull the tamper plug I had remove the retainer too. At least I can get them through the distributor.
