Not getting too political here but yes there are times it is okay not to stand; although, people have been half beaten to death in India for not standing. I know of a couple cases from last year alone. If you are wheelchair bond from being paraplegic or quadriplegic of course they can't stand. There is also other medical reasons that can keep someone standing. We have many veterans that are unable stand due to injures that received serving their country.
So please to those that has beef about insisting someone to stand for National Anthem ASK why they don't so you don't an A** out yourself. There are exceptions to every rule. Szheee...That like a policeman asking a paraplegic to walk a straight line during a DUI check.
The truest measure of society is the how it treats its elderly, its pets, and its prisoners.
