We don't switch our clocks in this province, so no extra sleep for me.

Personally I would rather see them split the difference in half and just leave it. The changing back and forth causes problems.

I remember back when I was in school when they first started this swapping sitting the classroom at 8am when it was still dark outside. The spring forward causes a lot of sleepy drivers having wrecks and then fall also accidents having to drive at dusky dark. As for my shop I end up changing closing time to dusk as I normally closed down at 6 pm.

Now of course the school bus passes my house at 6 am so it's dark when the kids leaves for school.

Is the U.S. the only dumb enough place to do this time change thing? What about the folks across the pond and the folks down under.

And another question. What are we going to do with all this time we saved anyway. :bricks:

Hallo folks,

Just be reassured that the most populous states down under have the same time changing disease - only more so it lasts for six months.

Just remember that we are pretty close to the equator so the seasonal time changes affect us less than many in northern areas. Those who think they know better have imposed the longer "daylight saving time" on us all. Yes we do have more road crashes around change times and children (especially in country areas) coming home in the heat, but it keeps on going on!

No one I know likes it, the city dwellers believe it's for the country folk and vice versa. The only ones that seem to think it's good are the politicians and we all know how close they are to reality :bricks:

Cheers from Oz,
Roger.

So you like this Standard Time. Here it is already dark by 5:15 when it is sunny and dark before 5 on cloudy days. We got at least another 30 minutes of light to lose in the evenings by the official start of Winter. I can just imagine how dark it is further North you go. You just can't escape Winter time lack of light; unless, you follow the Sun across the Equator. Just be thankful were all don't have several months of complete darkness at one time like the folks near the North and South poles.

You got time to build another cannon. I never found out what you did with the first one. The one with the wooden wheels. What say you.
