You only do that once but don't give today nut cases anymore ideas. I had a free ranged dog that keep crawling under electric fence but made his first mistake of curling his tail up as he made under the fence. So just kept up doing it as it only bit a little. It wasn't until he decided to mark the corner post that he never got close to fence again. He howl for nearly a hour and every time he made water for several weeks. It was only 9000 volts pulsed charge.
