Tecumseh info

I have a Tecumseh that does not have the typical label or etching in the shroud just a tag like older models. The tag has SBH4273A Ser: 6351f. What do I have?

SBH stands for Short Block Horizontal
The last 5 digits are the model of that short block.

is/was it common for shortblocks to be .020 oversize?

Not all that unusual but not exactly common either but have seen short blocks from the factory (briggs, tecumseh and kohler) that could be anywhere from STD to .030 over

Is there a conversion? I am looking for this to fit a service manual. Not sure where this is but I cant find any specs for it.

the tecumseh service manual that I have covers all the old engines.

The 7273A is the short block for the LH195SA (HSSK-40). Use the 3 - 11 HP 4 cycle L head service manual.

Last version of the 7273A is the 754273C.

HSSK40 is what I used.
