What I was referring to in the above post about the NEW diaphragm installiation is the lower edge of 394B and or 394C at the link picture below will not quite seal at their lower edge sometimes due to the pump spring pressure pushing on the diaphragms as you are snugging up the 3 screws. Go back and try again immediately if the new pump don't work correctly so as to keep the diaphragm from being permanently distorted and ruined.
A immediate notice of such is to prime the engine and when it starts running fuel may come out either or both the little hole in the metal plate or remove the pulse hose while the engine is trying to run and a mist/spit of fuel will be seen coming out the pulse hose barb on the bottom of the fuel pump while the engine is running. Sometimes the engine will actually run but not real smooth with the mist of fuel every once in awhile coming out the pulse hose barb on the carb.
