boy that's the highest torque for a head bolt that I've seen. IIRC flat head are around 165 and common ohv around 230.

Yes there some that are 250 in lbs but there one model series that is 300 in lbs (1854xx) and another model set (2354xx and 2454xx) that is 420 in lbs.

Thanks KE4AVB what a mess this thing was and no support from PD they didn't have carb kit or head gasket in stock nor did they have a clue when they would have one. Owner said buy new carb since not that much difference between kit and new carb. Found an head gasket at RBI so its done. Thanks again.

I thinking Briggs has lost it lately. I am still waiting on 4 vacuum lines that ordered the first week of May. Having to use whatever I can find to fit to get the riders back in operation.

Briggs has post two videos from the top management saying things getting better. From what I see here it is getting worst. Sounds like what coming out Washington DC lately. A different story everytime they open their mouth.

All I can do is tell the customer the items are out of stock @ Briggs and that there is no telling when they will available. Just lost a head replacement project due their dragging of their feet, customer said two months was long enough. Went out and brought a mower with a Kohler engine on it.

Yeah - reading between the lines, there was some mention of Briggs blaming it partly on their investment in a factory expansion or something.. but , what I get from it is - Briggs is hurting for money, spent too much on factory and development and stuff, then along come tariffs that hurt them because they moved so much production to China (serves them right!) so they didn't have money to put into keeping inventory production moving along.. Just got in backorder of 793147 hoses today, the 3-1/2" straight hoses are still on back order.. along with several other part numbers..
