1992 MTD Tractor help?

Postby dart451 » Sun Mar 29, 2020 11:19 am

I'm working on an old 92 MTD tractor, MTD-132-662F118. The unit didn't have a battery in it but the battery wires have me confused a bit! The Red and Black wires have a terminal for the battery and then another terminal that would most likely be under the shift area. I can understand that perhaps the Black (second terminal) could be mounted to a screw for ground but why on earth would there be another terminal on the Red? There smaller gauge wires that run off the battery terminals that does to a fuse. Anyway, included is a pic...anyone know why this is wired like this?

Broken Links. - check your links , looks like something may be missing (a .jpg or something?)

But, some of them, the power feed to switch (hot) came directly off B+ terminal on a smaller wire (it went to a fuse in-line before it gets to switch) though that power feed was later moved to the solenoid

Duh! LOL, looked at the wire diagram for the tractor...they go to the flippin solenoid that doesn't appear to be there!
