Honda HRM215 Mower Carb

Postby dougand3 » Thu Apr 09, 2020 7:50 pm

Mower was given to me. Never worked on a Honda. The carb puzzles me. What’s the port at 8 o/c? It mates with the air cleaner housing to a circular hole that has a drainage trough. If this is a fuel release – it just dumps into paper filter. Or is it an extra air channel? Thanks, Doug

8 o/c port on carb mates with circle/trough on housing. (A metal-rubber spacer gasket goes between them)

Dang good guess, AVB. My serial is MZBB-6127150, so you hit the proper carb.
My engine block # is GJAB-6575242.

That gets us down to a GCV 160 on one of two HRM215's. Can't pull the engine type as the engine is dedicated to that particular mower; it just the way Honda does their mowers.

HRM215 PXA LAWN MOWER, USA, VIN# MZBB-6000001 TO MZBB-6199999

HRM215 SXA LAWN MOWER, USA, VIN# MZBB-6000001 TO MZBB-6199999

Both have the same carburetor setup.

Now which gasket are you asking about?

This gasket - between carb and air filter housing. What I'm asking....the port at 8:30 o/c (inside black rubber) seems to dump fuel into the trough which empties into the paper filter. Is this some overflow circuit? Hadn't seen it in a Briggs carb. Thanks.

That circuit is bowl vent and air bleed passage , if it is dumping fuel then your carb float needle or float is bad.

Doug your image link isn't working. I even when inside your post and manually copy the link to my browser and all I get is a circle with a minus sign.

But both ports on the in side are air bleeds. The bowl vent is on the out side (between the carburetor and the cylinder head).

Sharing/permissions issue for the account most likely - have to set it for publicly accessible permissions.
