Ariens Snowblower leaking oil

Postby samcarpen » Sun Jun 28, 2020 12:33 pm

Md 939401 with LCT engine # PW2HK18400
178E-AB0QUVE1M
Cover on PTO side leaking oil. Thinking it could be overfilled. Has a short dip stick on cover top. Also has the two typical oil plugs on cover bottom. If oil level was at the bottom of the upper dipstick, it would be way above the lower plugs. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks, Sam

measure how much oil, is being put in, in ounces - typically it'd be around 16 or 18 Fl. Oz. of oil- So, find the spec for your engine, drain completely, measure out and fill with the correct amount according to spec, then check which plug or dipstick seems to be the one to go with..

If in doubt, just check the engine's spec for crankcase capacity, fill it to that amount, then you can make your own notes to where it should be filled to..
