Forward & Reverse Pedals Sticking on Cub Cadet Z-Force

Postby Skywatcher » Tue Jul 07, 2020 12:25 am

Greetings All

Customer brought a Cub Cadet Z-Force S Commercial 60" (zero turn mower), the type with a steering wheel. All the external linkages are free but the proportional indexing transmission control shafts in the steering box are really stiff. Also, when the steering wheel is turned full lock with the transmission in neutral, the unit will creep forwards on right turn and backwards on left turn. Anyone else run into this problem?

Unit info:
Model: 53AH5FJD050
S/N: 1E091Z20018

Thanks and all the best,

Sky

I haven't even seen one here but sounds the neutral adjustments are off.

Here is a link to the service manual that should help.

Cub Cadet Z-FORCE S Series (2010) Service Manual

I think the info you're looking for is in Charter 6 under adjustments.

Hi KE4

Thank you for the link, looks like pages 55 through 67 cover in good detail what I'll need to do with this unit. I think the main problem is sticky pivots and bushings in the steering box and associated linkages. All the best,

Sky
