Husqvarna 350 chainsaw

Postby Dale_W » Mon Oct 26, 2020 8:11 am

Good Morning
Model 967 01 88-00

Owner complained that during a day of use, it started running poorly, as if not getting gas. Finally died.

Cannot restart. Purge bulb will not fill with gasoline and cycle gas thru the carburetor.

I can see the fuel line in the tank still has the filter on the end, and the tank is full of gas.

I am thinking one of the lines has developed a crack/leak.

I plan on replacing all lines. Any thoughts from you guys?

Thank you

Dale

Probably carburetor internal filter screen clog for one thing and the filter also can be clogged. You are probably looking at cleaning and rebuilding the carburetor.

Amazon has carbs, fuel lines, filter and spark plug kits for less than $20....

The question is how many you must go through the get a good one from the cheap Chinese cloners? Every one that I have brought so far has had problems.

I am getting to the point of just quit trying to even to repair anything. Just spent a week buying and getting in blades and debris caps for a Husqvarna Revelation mower deck to only end up finding both $140 quick change assemblies bent; therefore, I reverted the deck back to standard spindles and blades. Good thing I brought those spindles back in June for stock.

Then there is the PA540A I am working on where Kawasaki has the oil on a nation-wide back order for at least 8 weeks and the O-ring as NLA. Hopefully I have ordered the right dash o-ring and oil seal out CA. They should be here in a week for me to try them.

And we yet to feel the full effect of the Covid-19 induced problems. I just got smacked by MTD and Husqvarna with major price increases; the rest of OEMs will follow their lead shortly. The Husqvarna price file was a mess and took over a day to straighten out. And MTD made prices at the wholesale level but left the retail prices the same so some items are now at listed at nearly cost which I need to catch before quoting repairs. Here is an example of one of the Husqvarna price increases that just got slapped with. A spindle shaft that sold for under $16 with a cost of $9.5 is now listed at $48 and costs $24 plus shipping. The customer is screaming at me for the price increase which all I can do is sale the two parts at cost.

Thanks to DJT for this because of all his pissing off other countries and his tariffs. If we stay on the same path as the last four years we are going to be in one heck of a mess. Old folks are already becoming expendable as hospitals are now starting to turn us away in preference of the younger folks; basically it taxpayers over non taxpayers. Of course we are not going to have the medical insurance much longer if Medicare and Social Security is killed off. Regular insurance including ACA is already beyond my total income. I tried back in October last year, my income at the time was $300 average per month and the lowest the they wanted was $1200 per month so you guess it I don't have any insurance and I even avoid going to the doctor now; unless, absolutely necessary. I even tried to get on my state's Medicaid and was turned down as I made too much money according to them. I would be better just killing myself; so there, I said it.

You're finding out what I knew 10 years ago when they started with the ACA in the first place.. there is just not enough money in this business to afford anything any more.. I'm getting started in woodworking & cabinetry (which is what I went to vo-tech for while in high school.. havent forgotten the skills..) but other than that, I havent had insurance since 2009.. havent been to a doctor either.. so politically I've reached the point where I just don't even care.. one choice is just as bad as the other.

You sound like you have gotten to my point now. The darn if I do and darn if I don't stage. Been without medical since 2006 only seen a doctor a couple times lately. One time was when I was stroking out because my blood pressure got too high with my whole left quit working for 20 minutes at a time and then the doctor to get a year long prescription of these make me so dizzy pills. Finally getting use to them but still have days where I fall down from dizziness. At least the blood pressure is down to 160/95 most days. A lot better then when I was in the meat wagon running 250/120 last October. I got to go ahead for another prescription and he probably going to increase the med strength so I can fall down more.

Yes .....I get it....you hate Trump...
I am absolutely thrilled with him .....not so much Hussein. He caused me to LOSE MY HEALTHCARE!!! I DID NOT get to keep my plan. I was forced to go on the Holy Obamacare...and take his socialist subsidy... YOU gave me $856 a MONTH and I had to pitch in another $587 OOP for a junk plan that I could not afford to even use. Thank GOD my wife got a job with BCBS for less than $500 a month...
Just installed another cheap Chinese clone....dozens of them now ....with only TWO bad ones....
I do have to replace one on my Stihl 025.....but the last one lasted THREE YEARS and it was $13....with an air filter and plug.... and I do NOTHING but put it away....

What I hate is professional liars... That is the reason I quit my first job after 8 yrs when the boss wanted me to start cheating the US Army.

Well at least you had or have a healthcare plan of some kind. Myself I haven't had health insurance of any kind since 1996 when I got caught in the corporate downsizing trend. Every job I applied for I was over qualified so they wouldn't hire me. I have spent my life savings already which ran out in 2006.

I am now just scraping by with just enough to pay the electric and phone bills. So I guess I just kill another one my kids and have something to eat the next few days. Already had soybeans for dinner tonight. I have already had someone from the schools wanting to know where my kids are and why they are not in school.

You and your wife has probably already got that those great stimulus checks. Here I haven't seen it and to be honest I don't think they are going to send it either. So it appears to be just another big government lie. But of course the IRS is going want me to pay taxes on it next year.

I don't hold grunges but I do know people that do. My brother is one of them. I just avoid the liars whenever I can just to make my life a little easier. It probably the reason I am loner as trust is something has to be earned with me. I just want people just be straight forward with me and not try to con me.

Bob, I know everyone has their personal opinion but at some point each side must give a little in order to get things done that needs to be done. And not be so bull headed that it prevent things from getting done. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree and move on.

If I didn't an open mind about things I would never got where I am now in the repair business.

This is why I am leaving another forum at the end of the month as members a pain to deal with because they keep posting bad information and like to jump on me about my posting of corrections. It just a decision for my peace of mind as I disagree with the way the members are posting bad info so I decided to just move on. It took me a month to get to this point as I back off posting helpful info. Habits can be hard to break sometimes as I like helping others.
