If any you come across the Snapper ST1842 (2691183-00) just it is the same as the Craftsman 917.289223 except for the cosmetics. Especially good to know when buying parts for it. In the last three years I done to replace a spindle, blade brakes, and today it came with a broken PTO engagement lever. Customer ran into a tree. Saving the customer nearly $25 and I still make the same amount. I say that is a win win repair.

I did find one difference so far. The manual engagement assembly is PN (532)199979 but several are showing images of the (532)199972. The parts are a little different. First the mounting bracket has a different format; otherwords, it will not mount. Also the engagement lever is smaller in diameter on the (532)199972 vs the (532)199979 so plastic handle would need to replaced if the new lever is to be used. Very easy to transfer the needed parts.

Also Husqvarna is listing the (532)199979 as NLA which it is not but has been become a proprietary item for the Briggs Snapper.
